METISS - Improving your access to the World

The METISS submarine cable (MEltingpoT Indianoceanic Submarine System),is the latest addition to Emtel’s diverse connectivity to the World.  Activated in March 2021, METISS is a new-generation 3,200 KM optical fiber cable connecting Mauritius, Reunion Island, Madagascar and South Africa. The cable landing station is hosted in Emtel’s Data Centre in Arsenal. 

With a capacity of multi Terabits per second and advanced technology, the METISS cable will ensure that your growing demand for data are met for the next few decades. It is paving the way to the new generation of applications that will run over 5G connectivity. The cable is already connected to many of the public cloud global players to provide you a better experience.

METISS is also an opportunity to connect to mainland Africa and rest of the world via the extensive fiber optic network.

METISS opens a new digital route to international networks and will serve as a springboard for the country's ambition to become a digital economy.
