What are the postpaid plans?

Emtel offers you two postpaid packages you can now choose from: Liberty and Smart tariff plan. Choose the plan that best suits your needs whether you do more calls towards Emtel numbers or towards other networks.

Benefits

No need to worry about your balance. You can talk without worrying about disconnection


Smart Plan

  • Same tariff (Rs 1.99/min) applies for calls towards Emtel numbers and calls towards other networks
  • Only Rs 99+VAT per month
  • Enjoy the comfort of Postpaid at ZERO rental fees: if your usage reaches Rs 799 excl. VAT within a month, then the monthly fee is waived

Liberty Plan

  • Cheaper tariffs during off-peak hours (Emtel to fixed line)
  • Only Rs 140+VAT per month
  • Emtel to Emtel tariff calls are just Rs. 0.48

How to apply?

To subscribe, please visit the nearest Emtel store with the following:

  • a proof of address (CEB or CWA bill not more than 2 months old)
  • your ID card and
  • your bank details to sign up for Direct Debit

Existing customers on Private and Business Plans


Please note that Private and Business Plans are no longer available to new customers as from the 17th September 2012. If you had subscribed to these plans , you may carry on using the same plans or migrate to the Smart Plan or Liberty plan .

Post-paid individual plans are ideal for those who like the flexibility and convenience of their line available without depending on recharge. Customers receive a fixed credit limit for the month which gives a greater level of control.In addition, there is convenient billing at the end of the month, specialised packages, better control and convenience in using your line.Furthermore, post-paid individual customers can experience and benefit from great roaming services worldwide.
What are the benefits of the post-paid Smart plan?
The Smart plan has been designed for the convenience of calling any local network (same network, other network and fixed landline) at one standard flat rate of RS 1.99/ min, so you can enjoy talking to your friends, family and business without worrying about running up a high bill.The additional benefit of the Smart plan is once your usage reaches Rs. 799(excluding VAT) (during any particular month, Emtel will discount the monthly access fee of Rs. 99(excluding VAT) off your bill.
What are the benefits of the post-paid Liberty plan?
The Liberty plan is ideal if your usage is more focused on Emtel to Emtel (within same Emtel network) calls and offers low off peak fixed rates
How do I settle my monthly fee?
You will receive a monthly bill at the end of the month which you will need to pay by direct debitDirect Debit cuts the hassle of remembering to pay for you bills and is automatically deducted from your bank account on a set date. Paying by direct debit entitles you to save Rs25 every month off your bill.

What usage counts towards my waiver of my monthly access fee on the Smart Plan?

A Smart plan customer must use/spend at least Rs799 before he/she is eligible for the waiver of the Rs99 monthly fee.

Usage includes the following: All outgoing Voice calls, SMS, DATA( including data packages) and VAS usage generated within Mauritius, excluding Roaming Usage, late payments, Monthly fee (and any other one off fee)
What happens if I don’t sign up to a post paid individual plan at the beginning of the month.
The monthly fee is prorated whenever you sign up to a new post-paid individual plan. If a customer is on Smart plan and spends more than Rs 799, the monthly fee will be discounted .
Can I get sign up to the Liberty plan Smart Plan if I am on the One Number plan?
Yes, you can sign up to any post-paid individual plan with the One plan and swap between your post-paid individual plan and your prepaid account.
How do I migrate or cancel my plan?

Simply visit any Emtel store to migrate from prepaid to postpaid as well as from one plan to another plan or cancel your plan.

Although please note all outstanding payments must be paid.
What will happen to existing Business and Private customers as these plans are removed from the post paid individual portfolio?
All customers on these plans may remain on their plans if they wish unless they wish to migrate to Smart Plan or Liberty Plan. If you wish to migrate, you may contact any Emtel store or call our Call Centre.
What documents do I need to bring to sign up to a postpaid individual plan?

You should bring along a proof of address (CEB or CWA bill which is not more than 2 months), your ID card and your bank details to sign up for Direct Debit

Terms and Conditions

  • Migration policy- A postpaid individual customer may request to change his/her package at anytime.
  • Emtel Favourite number cannot be used with any postpaid individual package plans.
  • A customer must use/spend at least Rs. 799 (Excl. VAT) before he/she is eligible for the waiver of the Rs99 monthly fee.
  • The spending acceptable to benefit from the waiver/discount on the Smart plan monthly assess fee includes the following: All outgoing Voice calls, SMS, DATA services (including data bundles and Blackberry bundles) and VAS services generated within Mauritius, excluding Roaming Usage, late payments, Monthly fee (and any other one off fee) to be factored.
  • Monthly fee is prorated (as per normal/actual process for prorated access fee)and if more than Rs 799 is used/spent then the discount is given.
  • Data tariff of Rs 5/ MB with KB charging (exc. VAT)
  • Calls are charged on a PSB (per second billing)
  • Peak and off-peak rates do not apply to the Smart Plan
  • All other normal terms and conditions apply
